When you’re loaded minivan averages 31.8 mpg. Took a trip with the family and the wife’s parents this weekend, consisting of all 55 mph roads. Actual average as calculated was 32.2 mpg, so the dash was close.
Figure for a van loaded with 4 adults, 3 kids, and a driver with a generally heavy foot I did alright.

Not bad. On a side note my 5.7 4x4 ram hit 17000 miles and the mileage noticeably improved. It was almost like someone flipped a switch, sudden gain of 2 to 3 mpg . I even checked the oil. Weird.

Dang! I might be in single digits. Maybe slightly better. Does your car run on fumes only?

What do you get out of your 5.7 Ram?
My grandpa has an 06 quad cab 4x4 with the 4.7L and he averages around 22 mpg.

Best tank so far 17.8 worse was 15.1 according to the dash. I reset it after every fill up.
Keep in mind too that this is a regular cab big horn.
I’ll cruise at 78mph on the way in to work and it’ll do 21 mpg on level ground but idling and around town kills that.
Still better than my old p71

I can't figure out my average usually because the display calculates 0mph as 0mpg, which technically correct but really throws off the data.

You can take miles/gallons at the pump when you fill up????

His is an 06 crew cab 4x4 with the 4.7L. In mixed driving he pulls around 22 mpg, all highway he’s seen as high as 24.5 mpg. He’s found 68 mph is the sweet spot, once he breaks 70 his mileage starts tanking.

No? Just my car's mpg tracker.

Oh I'd easily beat that if I could drive 70 to work. Doing 78 I get passed on both sides. Over 80 and mine tanks. Bear in mind this is a 8 speed with a 3.29 gear.

How does that throw off the data? It’s still measuring fuel consumed, even at idle.

Little known fact, all chrysler group minivans can run on the owner’s love of Mopar Minivans, it’s just that most owners have such disdain for them that they have to run on gas only and return shitty mileage because of it. Our Voyager loving friend here? On a good day he could probably spank a Prius.

I always check at the pump when I fill up, the mpg trackers are never totally accurate.
Mine’s been as far as 4 mpg off depending on driving conditions.
Why can’t you check it the old fashioned way, takes less than 10 secs?

If you’ve got a working trip odometer you can, just reset the trip when you fill up. Then next time you fill up divide the miles by the gallons.

The selectable gears on my Galaxie are P, R, N, white dot D, green dot D, L. The last three of which translate as “2nd and third if you don’t like wheelspin”, “first, second and third - if you do like wheelspin”, and “first unless you’re already moving, in which case force second”. Because arcane Ford valve body weirdness.
White dot vs. green dot would matter more if I had the six (not as easy to start in 2nd) or if I had a 390 (lol wheelspin).

I love our van, and on the highway it gets great mileage, 28-30. However, in town, which is where it spends 90% of its time, we average around 16-18. My wife is the main driver,
she has a heavy foot and has a 2 mile interstate blast on her way to work each day, so it really is a worst case scenario, but I had no idea it would be so bad. It makes driving the wrangler an economic option sometimes..... almost.

I generally have a heavy foot and in 95% city driving I can pull 22.5 mpg. My worst mileage since we got it was 18.5 mpg and I was wringing it out the whole tank.
I do miss my 1992 when it comes to city driving, it was smaller and got 24 mpg in the city.
